Livestreaming available via Zoom. This talk will discuss several differences in norms associated with doing field-based research in low- and middle-income countries. These include differences in standards between US and foreign IRBs, variation in how we react to certain aspects of research implementation and findings, and disparities in how we disseminate peer-reviewed research. The presenters will provide examples from various research projects conducted in low- and middle-income countries and discuss opportunities for harmonization of standards and practices.
