About this Event: Substantial racial disparities exits for gun homicide deaths in the US: the 2003 to 2017 age adjusted rate was 7.4 times higher for Black individuals than for White individuals.  In this talk, we will present research on disparities in gun homicide rates among neighborhoods of different racial composition for fixed levels of socioeconomic status.  Time permitting, we will discuss a different research project on gun violence prevention about the effect of the police removing a gun at the scene of an intimate partner violence (IPV) incident on subsequent IPV incidents reported to the police and subsequent risk of injury to the victim Penn Medical Ethics
