David Powell, PhD, has joined the Division of Health Policy as our newest faculty member. He comes to us from the RAND Corporation, where he has served as a Senior Economist and Professor at the Pardee RAND Graduate School. His research spans the fields of public finance, health economics, and labor economics. He focuses on how taxation, health care policy, and labor market dynamics impact population health. His methodological contributions also include innovations in quasi-experimental design and econometric techniques widely used in health policy research.
David holds a PhD in economics from MIT and a bachelor’s degree in applied mathematics from Harvard.
