Such therapies include a variety of neurofeedback, neuroimaging, and experimental and off-label brain stimulation techniques. Given that the efficacy of these alternative therapies is widely contested, the provision of such services raises a number of ethical and legal questions. Ethical issues include, among others, misleading statements made by providers, potential harms to users and provider competency, while legal questions concern licensing and scope of practice. In this seminar, I will provide an overview of these therapies and of the relevant ethical and legal considerations. In addition, I will present some preliminary themes that have emerged from an ongoing interview study on the experiences of users of neurofeedback services.   Please contact Mary Pham (mary.pham@pennmedicine.upenn.edu) if you would like to be added to the Medical Ethics events listserv. via Zoom Penn Medical Ethics
