Abstract: The COVID-19 pandemic has accentuated the use of telemedicine as a growing mode of patient care delivery. In this talk, we discuss the adoption of telemedicine, and its potential impact on care provider capacity. In particular, we use the experience of two health care systems to demonstrate how tele-visits in primary care can improve the utilization of care capacity by allowing physicians to manage more patients and/or to allocate more of their capacity to complex patients.
