It raises the idea of a racialized imagination and how this can be understood as a partial explanatory frame of reference accounting for some instances of medical racism. Moreover, there will be a brief discussion of the notion of epistemic injustice with respect to disparate treatment along racialized lines. Patrick T. Smith, PhD is the Director of Bioethics for the Trent Center for Bioethics, Humanities, and History of Medicine, and an Associate Professor in Population Health Sciences, Duke University School of Medicine.
