During this seminar, Dr. Frerichs will share her research team’s perspectives and experiences of conducting youth-engaged research. The research began pre-pandemic with a focus on understanding place, space, and social effects on physical activity and has evolved to considerations of entrepreneurship, mental well-being, and resilience. Dr. Frerich will share lessons learned and study findings from both their successes and disappointments. About Dr. Frerichs: Dr. Leah Frerichs is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Health Policy and Management, Gillings School of Global Public Health at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Her research involves community-based program planning, evaluation, and research with diverse communities. Her research focuses on the integration of engaged and participatory research approaches with systems science methods in order to address health equity issues in historically excluded communities. 1104 Blockley Hall Penn Medical Ethics
