Eli is a Data Scientist working in Penn’s Health Transformation Institute. He primarily works on a machine learning risk adjustment project for value-based care capitated payments. He also supports Dr. Ezekiel Emanuel’s team with data analyses. Prior to joining Penn, Eli worked in a Boston biotech consultancy, conducting retrospective studies on electronic health records to better understand disease etiology and progression and evaluate interventions. He has also worked at Tesla as a mechanical design engineer intern and at a stem cell differentiation lab at WUSTL as an Amgen Scholar. He graduated from Brown University with a B.S. with Honors in Materials Engineering. Eli is excited about working with world-class researchers and smart, interesting colleagues at Penn, and is hopeful about the potential to make a positive impact in the U.S. healthcare system through practical payment reform.
