Narrow Networks Get Even Tighter When Shopping for Mental Health Specialists

Kaiser Health News reports on recent research showing that the average insurance provider network includes only 11 percent of all the mental health care providers in a given market. Daniel Polsky, PhD, executive director of the Leonard Davis Institute of Health Economics and senior author of the study, says the report sheds more light on the challenges insurers face in trying to develop networks of mental health care providers.
