Alumni Gift MBE Travel Funds

As part of the MBE Program's support for student research, we offer current students funding for travel to in-person conferences to present their research. 

Each year, the MBE program has limited funds to support student travel for presenting accepted papers at conferences. Funding is awarded on a competitive basis. Here are the details for applying for a grant:

• What: Funding for students to travel to present at a conference. Students must have an accepted proposal to apply. Only presentations (not posters) are eligible.
• Who: Any MBE or MSME student who has a presentation proposal accepted at a conference can apply. Students can only receive this funding once.
• When: We will accept requests for funding twice a year, once in summer (June 1-July 15) and once in winter (December 1-January 15).
• How: To apply, submit your proposal and notification of acceptance to Molly. Please also include a cover letter with an explanation of why you want to attend, conference details (organization, location, dates), and an estimate of travel expenses.
• How much: Funding will be determined based on availability and number of eligible requests up to $500. Funding decisions will be made by the Faculty Student Conference Committee.

Applications will be reviewed in mid-July and mid-January by the Faculty Student Conference Committee. The deadline for this Fall application cycle is July 15. The deadline for the Spring application cycle is January 15. Please reach out to Molly Sinderbrand with any questions.
