Lauren graduated from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with BAs in Psychology and Spanish, while minoring in Sexuality Studies. Lauren worked at The Center for Developmental Science at UNC-Chapel Hill and The Children’s Memory Lab in UNC’s Department of Psychology on studies involving vagal tone heart rate monitoring and child self-regulation in the pre-school environment and on studies investigating how children learn to remember. Now Lauren works with CHIBE on the EMPOWER Program. The EMPOWER clinical research study investigates the effects of automated hovering of CHF patients using remote medication adherence and weight monitoring technologies, in addition to gamified lotteries. Lauren has a passion for reducing LGBTIQ Health Disparities and is currently applying to medical school.
